The purpose of QC (quality control) circles is to insure wide awareness of quality control and to make sure that each workplace implements quality control measures.
An opportunity is provided to employees to make presentations about quality control activities in April and October each year. All employees, whether their section is directly or indirectly involved in production, form QC circles to take up different themes. They look at everything from problems in their immediate surroundings to higher-level work processes to ways to improve individual production steps. They aim to improve work efficiency, product quality, and systems quality. The essence of the QC process is for each employee to have the joy of self-realization through the improvement of overall quality of work.
